Top view furnace

The following picture shows a top view of the furnace pulled out:

Legend:

1 Post combustion tube plug

2 Post combustion tube

3 Combustion tube connection

4 Combustion tube

5 Reduction tube plug

6 Reduction tube

Phase 1: Installing reaction tubes

Proceed as follows:

 Close the reduction tube (6) with the plug (5).

 Close the combustion tube (4) with the combustion tube connector (3).

 Close the post combustion tube (2) with the plug (1).

 Insert the reaction tubes into the furnace:

 Insert the combustion tube (4) in the middle, as seen from the front; the combustion tube

fixing pin (5) must snap into the holder (6).

 Insert the reduction tube (6) on the right, as seen from the front.

 Insert the post combustion tube (2) on the left, as seen from the front.

 Check that the reaction tube comes to rest on the bottom of the holder. The holders are

height-adjustable so as to allow for reaction tube length tolerances.

 Install the quartz glass bridge between the combustion tube outlet and the post combustion tube

inlet.
